Wondering which podcast host to choose? There are many options out there. Some have been around since the beginning of podcasting, while others are just getting into the game. So which one do you go with? Let’s get into it. Here is the one that I chose and the others that I considered for my podcast home.
Anchor (now Spotify for Podcasters)
My podcast, Drop the Aspiring Act, resides on the Anchor platform. This platform allows you to monetize immediately. There are no upload limits. You can schedule episodes in advance or save it as a draft. Did I mention that it’s free?
So if you’re looking for affordable, friendly features, and intuitive, try Anchor, especially if you’re not sure how long you plan to be in this podcast game. It can provide your immediate needs to just start podcasting with low risk.
LibSyn
LibSyn started in 2004, which means it’s been around for at least 16 years. So imagine how many improvements it’s made over the years. Right now, the platform boasts that the statistics that they provide to their users, meets aggressive industry guidelines. If monetizing your podcast is one of your main podcast goals, you may want to consider this option.
They have plans that start at $5, podcast mini sites if you don’t have your own website, and customizable LibSyn players that you can embed on your site.
BuzzSprout
Don’t plan on publishing more than 2 hours a month and not ready to spend $5 a month, there’s another option: BuzzSprout. They have multiple tiers that includes a free plan with some limitations, You’d get what they call advanced stats and unlimited team members, but your podcast site will have ads unless you upgrade to a paid plan.
Other Podcast Host Options
Don’t see an option that fits your needs above? Look into these other podcast hosts.
I’m only giving you 6 options because I DO NOT WANT YOU TO STAY STUCK IN RESEARCH MODE. Pick a host and get recording. If you’re unhappy with the host that you selected, you’re not locked in for life. You can move your podcast, so just start it.
Which podcast host did you choose and why do you love it? Let me know in the comments. Maybe you might convince me to find a new podcast home.
